What to Expect
Seeing a psychologist is daunting. It is expected that you may feel a range of emotions in this process. You will be met without judgement. The most important aspect of a successful therapeutic experience is the relationship itself.
During the first session, this is your opportunity to gain a sense of Millie, to ascertain whether this is a space where you can feel comfortable and share your story. Millie works hard to get to know you, understand your concerns, and arrive at a mutually agreed plan for treatment.
Because every individual’s story is unique, the therapeutic process is different for everyone. The number of sessions you may require will depend on your needs, goals for treatment, resources, supports and motivation. Millie will continually review your progress in order to provide a considered and appropriate service. You are the best judge of whether you’re getting what you need.
You are paying for Millie to fulfil a unique role in your life: one centred entirely on you and your difficulties, not the needs and feelings of anyone else.
